Handsome iron lions like this one can be found adorning stairway handrails here and there throughout downtown Edinburgh. I found this mellow fellow protecting my descent down a steep stairway into the area of Princes Street Gardens from somewhere in the Old Town. Some people have Guardian Angels. While visiting Edinburgh, I had Guardian Lions.
