This photo was taken at the upper level of The Grotto, aka The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, in Portland. People of all religions are welcome to visit and enjoy this peaceful site. The gardens are beautiful at any time of year, but they really shine during autumn, when the Japanese maples glow in shades of red and orange.
