Mr. Hyde

By night, Deacon Brodie's "Mr. Hyde" side emerged. Deacon Brodie was the leader of a gang of theives. Apparently this "moonlighting" occupation was necessitated by his need to support 2 mistresses, several children, and a gambling habit. He was hanged for his crimes on October 1st, 1788. His nighttime persona is shown in this painted sign that hangs on a corner of Deacon Brodie's Tavern.
