As far as I can tell, at the Portland Scottish Highland Games, you do one of two things: You either throw heavy things, or you play noisy things. Simplistic, maybe--I think you can run, too *grins*. Here's a big guy throwing something heavy (you can see the heavy thing in the light space between some trees) as far as he can. We really enjoy visiting the Highland Games. It's good fun with good food and lots of vendors, and even Border Collie herding demos in addition to the athletes and musicians, but even Zwack, who is a native Scot born and raised, can't tell me much about the activities these men are engaged in. Please take my good-natured commentary in the spirit of fun in which it's meant.
